GYRA fully supports measures which reduces the amount of traffic in the Yorkville core. The reduction of a steady stream of noisy and emission spewing garbage trucks, delivery vehicles, moving vans, and very often ambulances and fire trucks jostling for space on our congested streets, will undoubtedly improve traffic flow, as well as the pedestrian experience. GYRA looks forward to the implementation of the Pilot Project, and to its long term success. Sincerely, Gee Chung President THE GREATER YORKVILLE RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION c.c. Executive Committee The two-way operation was considered and adopted by Community Council on 11 September 2012. City Council delegated authority for this matter to Community Council and therefore, the decision is final. Community Council Decision Community Council decided that converting Scollard Street from a point 30-metres west of Bay Street to a point 69 metre further west from its current one-way westbound operation to a two-way operation would be beneficial, and approved the one year pilot project.
